Theme Thursday for March 14, 2013 - GREENERY

GREENERY

This weeks new theme is GREENERY!

Okay, I am wondering what exactly is "greenery"?
So as always I had to look it up.
Yes, it is a real word and it is descriptive.
Did you know that some "greenery" is now legal?
This was a new meaning for me
since I knew that when I was a kid,
the "greenery just grew along side the road like a weed.

Yes, it was free and legal at that time as most greenery is.
I do like to learn new things all the time,
and this was definitely something new.

But as I chose greenery, I was thinking more along the
lines of little green shamrocks spring up
all over the place right now.
And those Shamrock Shakes that McDonald's is
selling right now.
I keep forgetting to go out and get one of them,
and I know that by the time I really think about it
they will stop selling them.
Hopefully this will remind me.
I will let you know if or when I get one.

But the real greenery is already starting to grow every where
here in SoCal.
Let's say Spring has sprung down here.
But then it really never goes away since we are in
an evergreen zone.
Which means we miss those beautiful autumn colors.

Also I just wanted to show you what "thermal greenery"
can do to a picture of the youngest granddaughters.
Love those alien grandkids just like the normal ones.

Please come back on Thursday
and tell me about any greenery
in your life or area.
Thanks again,
Mrsupole

See you Thursday!!!!

  1. Fun to read! Yes, I too want a Mint shake :D
Greenery use to be the extras that came with the floral bouquet, but now I think of spring and words playful encouraging me to use them in new ways ;D
    Happy Monday to you~

    1. Hi Ella,

I got my Mint Shake today which is funny because I eat Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream throughout the year and I probably could make one from it. I guess here in CA we would say that we have so much greenery around us and would talk about the greenery growing in the greenhouses. You are right it is a playful word. Looking forward to see what you do with it.
      Happy Wednesday to you!

      God bless.

    1. Hi Josie Two Shoes,

Thank you for following the other bloggers here and glad it looks interesting. I hope you have fun giving it a try. And I definitely know about the thinking thing. It seems I am always thinking and then changing my mind, then thinking again.

      God bless.

    1. Hi Emma,

Thank you and I got my green milkshake today. I guess if you like mint and have some Irish blood in you then you would like them. I totally enjoyed it and even though I thought I was done for the year I am thinking that maybe just one more might be good. I hear some people get one every day that they sell them. I do not think I could do that but I did find a recipe for them. Maybe someday I will give it a try.

It was in the 80's here today and we were ready to turn on the air conditioning. Thursday is supposed to be in the 90's and the a/c will definitely be on. WE go from hot to cold a lot here in SoCal. We are very lucky to have such nice weather here. I hope summer comes soon for you.

      God bless.

    1. Hi Maggie,

As near as I can tell you are the only one who can unfollow a blog. But following a blog just means that you like what is posted and it is a way for you to be able to find the website when you want to read what is posted. Here at TT it is your choice to participate or leave comments whether you follow us or not. We more than welcome you to continue to follow us so that you can visit whenever you would like to. But I think to cancel you just have to click on your pic, go to options, then settings and then choose to unfollow us, at least that is what I think you do. I've never done it so I am not positive.

I hope this helps. Oh and we do have a lot of participants who link up more than one meme for the different days they participate. I hope you will visit some and I think some link the ones you follow with ours too. They make it seem so easy.

      Good luck and God bless.

    1. It is now open for greenery, love the greenery, well you know the kind you can eat, like broccoli and celery. And the orangey things like carrots and squash. Now I am craving a salad. That's a good thing, I think.

      God bless.

  6. Unfortunately I can't drink a Shamrock Shake. At least unless I take a couple of Lactaid pills. Otherwise it will make my face turn green from how sick I will feel!
    Here is my green entry!

  7. I won't be having a Shamrock Shake either—but I will definitely be enjoying springs as it springs around here. Crocuses are up, tulips will follow soon, then watch out as everything bursts into bloom and the trees are green again. My favorite time of year!

  8. How I envy you for the greenery you have there in California (not the kind that was just legalized ;-) Living in West Texas, green patches are few and far between. I so miss the green fields and trees of my South Dakota childhood, but I don't miss the many months of snow!

  9. A fun theme! I think I may have to check out those shamrock shakes.

  10. I am so sorry to have linked twice...I goofed the first time and put up an old one. Maybe there is a way you can delete it, Mrsupole? My brain is just not in gear yet.

  11. Still waiting for any greenery around here. But it won't be long before the flowers start grown.

  12. I've added a second post link that might be a bit off topic, but it certainly comes to mind when we think of green! :-)

  13. P.S. I like how you altered the picture of your grandchildren. Surreal.

  14. Sorry I am late getting to everyone. Hubby was working on the plumbing for the new bathtub he was putting in and needed my help such as it was. And when not helping him I was sleeping, just could not stay awake. Having an affair sure does wear one out!

    Thanks for all your patience.

    God bless.
